A heart-stopping mechanical failure at a popular ski resort was captured on video as a quad chairlift began spinning backward at high speed. The footage shows the chairs whip-cracking around the bullwheel, with passengers being flung into the air by the extreme centrifugal force. Panic erupted as skiers were launched like ragdolls into a growing pile of equipment and bodies on the loading ramp. Emergency crews and ski patrol members were seen rushing to the disaster site to assist those ejected.
