This is a Freshwater Hydra. These cnidarians are found in fresh water environments like lakes, ponds and slow moving stream. They have tentacles that have nematocyst cells which can be injected into another organism, releasing a paralyzing toxin. This allows them to capture their prey easier and consume them. They will be seen eating crustaceans and fly larvae. Hydra have a regenerative ability allowing them to heal when injured. This is also a part of their reproduction in which they grow a new
