Chebakia: A delicious Moroccan sweet that’s made with toasted sesame seeds, ground anise and cinnamon. The dough is kneaded, shaped into a flower, fried and soaked in honey.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This was one of my first attempts at making these so I used a wonderful recipe from @tasteofmaroc along with a fantastic tutorial on how to fold these the traditional way from by @cookingwithalia to get the job done. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My Chebakia making skills are a work in progress, but overall I was happy with how they turned out

Chebakia Bouchnikha - a beautiful, delicate honey-soaked pastry made with milk. The name can vary by region and is also known as Chebakia with Milk or even just “Bouchnikha.” The name comes from the Moroccan toothpick plant, as the pastry’s shape resembles its dried flower.
