“Mack The Knife” has always been one of Kurt Weill’s most iconic songs, and I’ve loved it since first wearing out the grooves of Teresa Stratas’ Weill record in my twenties. Now I finally get to share my own version. Recorded live with the brilliant Pacific Jazz Orchestra under the baton of Chris Walden, this performance lets the orchestra swing with full force while I dive headfirst into Weill’s world, where high art, cabaret, and pop sensibility collide. The single will be out September 26th.
