A water crisis is growing along the Texas-Mexico border. Mexico is required by a 1944 treaty to send water to Texas, but drought and political pressure have turned the deal into a conflict. After US threats, Mexico is agreeing to provide water to Texas farmers in a capacity that doesn’t hurt Mexican farmers. In Texas, farmworkers risk losing crops and income. In Mexico, fields are drying up as water flows north. Once again, it’s working class communities, left at the bottom of a shrinking river.
