One of my favourite sounds is that of a newborn calf slurping back its first bottle of colostrum. Last night’s calf got a mixture of mom’s first milking and colostrum replacer because mom didn’t give enough for what this little heifer calf had an appetite for! By this morning she was nursing from the cow but filling her up until she had all she wanted last night helped ensure I came to the barn to find a warm, lively and contented calf this morning. | Dairy Farm “Tails” from Moo to You
