As an addendum, perusing the list, I wish they'd gotten the Macross Plus 4-part OVA along with or in lieu of the Movie, as I've always liked the pacing and the narrative differences in the OVA over the movie. Both are great (Macross Plus is my favorite of the entire series, essentially my gateway into the larger world of anime in the mid-90s).

Probably the weakest Macross movie in the series, but it's still a good watch nonetheless.
