What’s your favorite podcast of all time and why? : r/podcasts
Edited to add why: It’s just simply the best true crime investigative podcast out there. It’s such a great listen, fantastic story telling. You can’t wait for the next episode. And in season 2, the podcast investigation actually made a huge difference in the case. In my opinion, it’s even better than Serial Season 1.

Nov 24, 2023 · Best podcast: Fiasco: Vigilante. Top-notch research and presentation, sucked me in right away. Leon Neyfakh has consistently produced great seasons. Only drawback is most seasons are subscriptions—I had to subscribe to Audible to listen to this season and it was the only reason I did so. Canceled the subscription as soon as I finished it.

I analyzed 533 podcast recommendations from 25 best-of lists
TAL looks to be top 20 consistently but Radiolab is barely Top 50. My initial guess would be that shows with set seasons that tell a story do better because you don't want to miss any day but JRE and my favorite murder don't have seasons as far as I'm aware. Also notice how most of the top recomended list is made of "serious" podcasts.

S6E16 - Miss Marni's Teahouse. Idk what I can say about this one that will do justice to how good it really is. Rona Vaselaar is probably one of my top fave authors. S8E7 - The room that echoed. Haunting and beautiful. A rare combo for this podcast, one I would appreciate more of. S8E13 - Heroes and monsters. Cliche, maybe. Predictable, sure.

If I search "[subject] Marketing" I get up to 10 results on Pocketcasts, and 1-30 on Podcast Republic, PR goes all the way back in time. Also Podcast Republic and a advance filter for search [Sort,range date, and more] while Pocketcasts only has a search input with no filter Podcast addict would be my third favorite and free, but the UI is bad.

Starting at about podcast #40 she invested in a professional microphone and the audio quality is first-class. I "graduated" to her podcast after listening to every single Teppei Beginner podcast (another favorite choice).
