Most airports recommend passengers arrive two hours before their flights. But what should you do during a government shutdown?
HOUSTON — The ongoing government shutdown will cause headaches for air travelers. The Houston Airport System announced on Saturday that security wait times will increase at Bush and Hobby airports. On Sunday, officials warned that TSA wait times may now exceed 90 minutes at Bush Intercontinental Airport and 60 minutes at Hobby Airport.
Projected wait times at security checkpoints climbed to three hours at George Bush Intercontinental Airport and one hour at William P. Hobby Airport on Sunday after the two airports scaled down their TSA operations over the weekend.
At Bush Intercontinental Airport, only TSA checkpoints at Terminals A and E will be open for passengers, beginning at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
