A man who was waving a gun at people nearby in Far East Dallas was shot after police say he pointed his gun at responding officers.

The Round Rock Police Department said police were actively investigating an officer-involved shooting Tuesday night at southbound I-35 near Westinghouse Road.

Police shot and wounded a man who allegedly brandished a firearm Tuesday afternoon and pointed it at officers in a Far East Dallas neighborhood, Interim Chief Michael Igo said at a news briefing. Officers were dispatched about 3:20 p.
