Beau Bartlett closed out his Penn State dual meet career in style on Friday night at Rec Hall against American. The Nittany Lions’ senior improved to 18-0 at 141 pounds with a 21-5 technical fall over Elijah White in 3:19. Unbeaten Penn State trounced American 50-3 to finish 15-0.

Penn State wrestler Beau Bartlett fittingly won Big Ten wrestler-of-the-week honors after a 2-0 weekend that propelled him to No. 1 in the country at 141 pounds. Bartlett defeated former No. 1 Jesse Mendez of Ohio State 4-2 in a match last Friday that served as a preamble to the postseason.

Bartlett, last year’s NCAA 141-pound runner-up to Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez, wrestled Mendez three times last year and each bout ended 4-1, with Bartlett winning the dual and Mendez taking the B1G and NCAA finals in tremendously competitive bouts. They’ll go again on Friday in Columbus.
