Riley Keough sat down with Oprah Winfrey at her family’s estate, Graceland, for a one-hour CBS special devoted to discussion of the new book “From Here to the Great Unknown,” which Keough completed after her mother began dictating memories for a memoir before dying in 2022.

Keough opened up about her mother's unexpected death in a new special with Oprah Winfrey about Elvis, her mom, Priscilla, and Graceland.

The actress discussed the death of her mother and finishing her posthumous memoir during CBS's ‘An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie and Riley' Tuesday night.

“An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie And Riley” premieres this Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on CBS. Winfrey travels to the historic Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tenn., to sit down with Riley, Elvis’s first-born grandchild.

Keough told Oprah that she sees how the story “sounds completely insane and absurd” on paper, but said that her mom “wasn’t a crazy lady.” According to Keough, a “very compassionate funeral homeowner” helped her mom figure out how to preserve Benjamin’s body at Graceland while she was figuring out burial logistics.
