'I was so fortunate': NC pilot describes moment plane crashed in ocean at Oak Island
WECT reports a small airplane crashed in the ocean near the Oak Island Pier at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Town officials said the pilot, the only person on board, was treated on shore for non-life-threatening injuries. The plane was recovered and towed out of the water.

OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WTVD) -- A pilot was rescued Saturday after making an emergency landing in the ocean near Oak Island Pier. The Town's Beach Safety Unit, who were already in the area responding to a water rescue nearby, were able to quickly assist pilot Mark Finkelstein, who was the only one on board.
