A judge has ruled in favor of a UK woman who alleges that she was terminated from her job due to her pregnancy. 27-year-old Nikita Twitchen had just given birth and was getting ready to return to work post-maternity leave when she found out that she was pregnant once again.

A UK woman was awarded £28,000 after being unfairly dismissed from her job for revealing her pregnancy upon returning from maternity leave.

The woman said she informed her boss that she was expecting another child which left him off guard. Her maternity leave ended in March 2022, but her company didn't reach out to discuss her return. She said she emailed her boss on April 4 about holiday entitlement, but he didn't respond. She then followed up on April 11 and 18.

Nikita Twitchen was preparing to return to her office administration assistant at First Grade Projects when she lost her job. The woman started her role at the Pontypridd-based business back in October 2021 and became pregnant not long after, heading on maternity leave in June 2022.
