After The Marvels and Deadpool & Wolverine laid the groundwork for more Fox X-Men to return, Avengers: Doomsday is going all in by bringing back several non-Wolverine (or Professor X) characters from the original films. Among them is James Marsden, who played Cyclops in that initial trilogy and didn’t really get to do much in them.

James Marsden is returning to his “ X-Men ” roots in Marvel’s upcoming “ Avengers: Doomsday ,” which is set to feature the actor alongside several of his original cast members from 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men” film franchise. Marsden told Vanity Fair that filming “Doomsday” has been a “blast” and a “homecoming.”

In a full-circle moment, James Marsden is returning to the role that first put him “on the map.” The Paradise actor and newly minted Emmy nominee sat down with Vanity Fair recently to discuss reprising his X-Men character Cyclops in the Russo Brothers’ forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
