Officials say police and firefighters responded to an explosion that rocked the city of Palm Springs and damaged a fertility clinic. The act was being investigated as a possible car explosion, according to two law enforcement officials briefed on the matter who insisted on anonymity to discuss preliminary information from an ongoing investigation.

Authorities told The Times they are looking into videos, audio files and other postings attributed to Guy Bartkus as they try to determine the attack motive.
