Barcelona face off against Athletic Bilbao in the first semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday at the King Abdullah Sports City in Saudi Arabia.

Athletic looked more likely to find a response as the first half went on, as Iñaki Williams offered a threat and forced Wojciech Szczesny to be alert in the Barcelona goal, but Barcelona held onto their advantage heading into the interval.

This is the 18th consecutive edition in which Real Madrid or Barcelona have been involved. The two clubs have 27 titles between them.
