Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller was close to leaving the franchise at some point through Saturday but he remains on its roster and at the center of trade speculation. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman,

The Vancouver Canucks were reportedly in trade talks with the New York Rangers to acquire a former first-overall pick this weekend.

There was momentum on J.T. Miller getting traded to the New York Rangers on Saturday, but the deal collapsed per NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. Miller was supposedly being held out of Saturday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers while some AHL players in the Rangers organization were scratched.

As the trade drama in Vancouver reached a peak, J.T. Miller blocked out the drama for an excellent performance in a win against the Oilers.
