For all of the talk about the Boston Celtics looking to make major changes to their roster this offseason, the number of quality players they might move on from seemingly keeps dwindling leading up to the start of free agency.

Kevin Durant could find a new home in the days to come and the odds he may be rejoining the Eastern Conference are on the rise. Durant is working with his management and the Suns this offseason to find a new landing spot after two disappointing years in Boston.

During the 2024-25 NBA season, Holiday played in 62 games for the Celtics. He averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor overall and knocking down 35.3 percent of his three-point attempts.

Boston Celtics fans are preparing themselves for what could be a busy summer. Since Joe Mazzulla's team was eliminated from the 2025 NBA playoffs at the hands of the New York Knicks, trade rumors linking multiple members of the roster have begun to swirl. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis appear to be the most likely to head for the exit door.

Brooklyn is the only team that could absorb Holiday’s deal outright into their cap space. Otherwise, the other team involved in acquiring Holiday would need to send out at least $25.9 million in salary for the trade to work under CBA rules if it goes through after July 1st. Holiday is set to make $32.4 million next season.
