The owner of a dog that mauled and killed another dog on a trail in a Massachusetts town over the weekend has been identified, police say.

At around 2:20 p.m. Saturday, police received a report that a 6-year-old Maltese had been “severely bit” by another dog on Towle Field trails near Westford Street, police said.
