Friday's 6-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers held plenty of heroes, once again. Eight Toronto players recorded a hit.
With that victory, the Blue Jays now have the best record in baseball at 62-42. The last time that they had the best record in the league this late in the season was in 1992, when they went on to beat the Atlanta Braves in the World Series, according to Sportsnet.
Matt Scannell signed with the Blue Jays on Friday, according to Sportsnet's Zach Worden. Scannell just completed his final college season, which he played with Wake Forest and put up a .978 OPS.
