Jazz fans may be disappointed to learn that newly elected Pope Leo XIV never moonlighted as trombone player "Bobby Prev" in his hometown of Chicago, contrary to social media posts sharing a supposed image of him playing the instrument.

Pope Leo XIV borrowed words from his first public address at the Urbi et Orbi after his election on May 8, and wrote: "Peace be with you all!"

The first US-born pontiff has taken over the Vatican’s official social media handles, and posted a message to Instagram on Tuesday.
