NHL Player Safety has fined Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton $5,000 for cross-checking New York Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov. This is the maximum allowable fine under the CBA. Laughton's cross-check occurred at the 15:30 mark of the third period. The Flyers forward was given a two-minute minor for cross-checking on the play.

New York Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov faces a possible suspension after delivering a high hit to Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan Poehling on Thursday night.

Islanders rookie Maxim Tsyplakov had a target on his back after delivering a hard shoulder check on Poehling, who left the game.

Sean Couturier had a goal and an assist, Travis Konecny added three assists and the Flyers defeated the Islanders 5-3.
