Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared Friday evening on social media that South Africa’s ambassador to the U.S. was barred from entering the country. Rubio shared reporting from the far-right media outlet Breitbart News comments by Ambassador Embrahim Rasool linking President Donald Trump to White supremacy.

Despite his treatment, Rasool told the large gathering South Africa’s relationship with the US must be rebuilt.
