EDMONTON -- Connor McDavid scored the only goal on his 28th birthday, and Stuart Skinner made 31 saves for the Edmonton Oilers in a 1-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Place on Monday. Skinner's shutout was his second of the season. His first came less than a week ago in a 4-0 win at the Boston Bruins on Jan. 7.

Connor McDavid scored in the second period and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Kings 1-0 on Monday night for their second straight win. Stuart Skinner stopped 31 shots to earn his second shutout of the season and sixth of his career as the Oilers won for the sixth time in seven games to move ahead of the Kings into second place in the Pacific Division.
