A Taunton woman won the third and final $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery's “Waves of Cash” instant ticket game.

The final grand prize for the scratch ticket game “Waves of Cash” was claimed on Tuesday. The Massachusetts State Lottery ticket was purchased at Court St. Mutual in Taunton. There had been two other $1 million prizes from the game that were previously claimed.

The Massachusetts State Lottery announced the luckiest stores that sold multiple prizes of $1 million or more in 2024.

Amanda Demontigny bought a “$4,000,000 Bonus Money” Massachusetts State Lottery instant ticket at the Richdale Food Shops at 181 South St. in Hingham on New Year's Eve. In lieu of the $200,000 annuity over 20 years, Demontigny instead opted for the one-time payout of $2.6 million, before taxes.

The largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts in 2024 came from a ticket given to the winner as a birthday gift, which they called “the best birthday present ever.” There were at least 150 players who won between $1 million and $15 million — and one player won even more.
