The chief of police in a resort town in Maine has called for an investigation into the arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement of one of its officers.

ICE arrested Jon Luke Evans, a summer reserve officer with the Old Orchard Beach Police Department who is from Jamaica, when he tried to purchase a firearm.

Old Orchard Beach police, who hired him as a summer employee, said federal officials cleared him to work in May.
