Clemson’s comeback attempt fell short Sunday as No. 5 Florida State poured it on early and late, dealing the third-ranked Tigers a 20-9 run-rule loss in Tallahassee. The Seminoles jumped out to a commanding 10-0 lead by the third inning and finished the game with a walk-off homer in the eighth to hand Clemson its second straight series loss and sixth defeat in eight games.

It was a clash of ACC and national titans as the No. 2 Clemson Tigers faced the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles this weekend in Tallahassee, Fla.
