After two years of production at Sony Pictures TV and Amazon MGM Studios, the God of War TV Series is 'starting over' with new writers.

Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures TV are restarting work on its upcoming God of War live-action series adaptation after the exit of three of its executive producers.

While Amazon is content to throw enormous amounts of cash at projects, one high-profile megashow appears to be in trouble, God of War.

Amazon's God of War adaptation has reportedly started from scratch following the departure of its showrunner. That's according to Deadline, which reported that Rafe Judkins had left the show alongside executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus. This is despite multiple scripts having been completed for the first season.

Yumi Yang and Cory Barlog of God of War developer Santa Monica Studio are still attached to the TV show as executive producers, as are Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, Yumi Land, and Roy Lee. Moving forward, Amazon and Sony reportedly plan to put together an entirely new group of writers for God of War and essentially start over from scratch.
