A 41-year-old woman has been charged with attempting to smuggle fentanyl pills into an Los Angeles County juvenile detention facility where her child was a resident, officials announced Thursday.

Nearly two years after the woman’s original arrest, District Attorney Nathan Hochman decided to file charges after a fresh review of the case.
