Last month, discount retailer, Big Lots announced that it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company plans to sell the business to Nexus Capital Management. The retailer is also in the midst of closing hundreds of stores. On Friday, it announced the closing of 56 additional stores in a bankruptcy filing.

Last month in bankruptcy filings, Big Lots said it would close almost 50 more stores, bringing its total planned store closures to more than 340.

New Hampshire is losing two of its Big Lots stores. Big Lots, one of America's largest home discount retailers, announced in August plans to close over 300 locations, following an announcement before that they planned to close 30 to 40 stores. Now, another sweep of closures has been announced.

Big Lots has around 1,400 stores nationwide. Locations impacted by the closure should reflect on Big Lots' website, saying, “CLOSING THIS LOCATION.” See the list of Ohio closures here: Final dates of operation for the closing locations have not been announced.

Big Lots is closing even more stores in Indiana as part of its bankruptcy. In addition to several stores previously reported as closing in the state, locations in Lafayette, Muncie and South Bend will close.

Three more Big Lots stores in Arizona are closing as the retailer continues to shrink its footprint. Here's which stores closed and which are open.

The below list shows all of the Big Lots store closings announced on Oct. 4, Sept. 27 and Sept. 20, covering 38 states. Texas has the most locations closing on the list with 23. That's followed by California (17), New York (9) and Florida (9).
