Due to dust and air pollution, diseases like tuberculosis, asthma, fluorosis, bronchitis, thyroid and stomach ailments have become endemic at Talcher and in other parts of the district.

Sources in the OSPCB said, an action plan has been made to reduce pollution levels and improve the air quality in Angul-Talcher region.
