Matthew Barzal scored the latest go-ahead goal for the Islanders in 2 ½ seasons and it held up for the winner as Marcus Hogberg made 21 saves for his first NHL win since April 2021 and the Isles defeated Utah HC 2-1 before a sellout crowd of 11,131 at Delta Center.

Goals from Barzal, Nelson, Dobson, and Pulock carry the Islanders to victory on Brent Sutter’s Islanders Hall of Fame induction night.

Doing so on the same night the organization honored Brent Sutter — inducting him into the team’s Hall of Fame and onto the Ring of Honor at UBS Arena — with one of the season’s better crowds in attendance, gave a little bit extra to an otherwise forgettable 4-1 win over the Sharks on Saturday.
