Three comfort stations have opened for Volusia County residents impacted by Hurricane Milton. According to the County's social media pages, each site offers restrooms, showers, and laundry trailers.

In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many debris haulers are already at work in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. So Volusia County government officials are using their forces to help contractors clear debris in the unincorporated areas and along county-maintained roads, county spokesman Michael Ryan said in an email to the News-Journal.

Two people were killed in Volusia County after trees fell on their homes during Hurricane Milton, the Volusia Sheriff's Office confirmed. A third death was reported but was possibly caused by a medical emergency and not storm related, VSO said.

There is more help available for people in Volusia County who are still without power following Hurricane Milton.

Florida's Hope Bus is making a stop today and Sunday in Volusia County to help those affected by Hurricane Milton, according to county authorities.
