There is no tsunami threat to the Philippines following the magnitude 7.5 earthquake that struck at the Southern Drake Passage on Friday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the southern tip of South America, in the Drake Passage, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports, striking at the shallow depth of 10 kilometers. Chile has also issued a tsunami threat advisory.
