The National Weather Service released a tornado warning at 6:16 p.m. EDT on Sunday in effect until 6:45 p.m. EDT for Eaton, Ingham and Jackson counties.

“Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.”

Thunderstorms, large hail, destructive wind gusts and strong tornadoes threaten up to 73 million people across the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Sunday. By evening, Michigan, Missouri and Mississipi each had preliminary tornado reports as a storm system slowly marched east,
Storms could turn severe Sunday afternoon and evening. While hail and wind are the biggest threats, a tornado can't be completely ruled out in the strongest storms.
March, April, and May are the months when the most tornadoes have touched down in the Volunteer State, but that isn’t the case in every state. Tornado season varies widely across the country. You can see from the graph below that March through May is by far the most likely time for tornadoes in Tennessee.
While tornado watches are in effect, damaging wind gusts and large hail remain the primary hazards from any severe thunderstorms on Sunday.
There is a low to medium chance for severe storms from about 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon through midnight in Clarksville.
