"This is an unprecedented loss," said Emmett Bartholomew, a local pilot and flight instructor. "Both of these people are so good at what they do. It's an absolute shock."

A seaplane crashed in Raceland Wednesday night, killing two people on board. According to Lafourche Parish President Archie Chiasson, the plane took off from a body of water in the New Orleans area en route to the Houma-Terrebonne Regional Airport.
