Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Georgia Bureau of Investigations Director Chris Hosey said 500 shell casings were recovered from the scene, while its believed 200 rounds hit six buildings in the CDC complex. Five firearms were also recovered, he said.

Patrick White, the man who police say opened fired on the CDC headquarters, blamed his depression on the COVID-19 vaccine, multiple outlets reported.

As he grappled with those issues, sources said, White had become increasingly fixated on the COVID-19 vaccine as a source of his grievances. Several Kennesaw residents who knew the 30-year-old suspected shooter told ABC News they had heard White express similar angry and conspiracy-minded sentiments.
