The Texas Rangers have agreed to terms with slugging designated hitter Joc Pederson on a two-year pact worth $37 million, the team announced Monday. The deal contains an opt out after the first season.

After a disappointing 2024 season for the Rangers’ offense, Chris Young injected some big-time pop into the lineup by signing Pederson.

The Rangers have been active in free agency, adding Pederson, catcher Kyle Higashioka, former Marlins slugger Jake Burger and re-signing Nathan Eovaldi. They also traded first baseman Nathaniel Lowe to the Nationals. Texas went 78-84 last season.

Rangers continue their busy month of acquisitions, adding a left-handed power hitter to lengthy list of acquisitions.
