Inside, however, a lot has changed. The new iPad mini is powered by Apple's A17 Pro chip (that's the one from Apple's iPhone 15 Pro), and comes with 128/256/512GB of storage memory, doubling the starting storage from previous generation.

After three long years (and one long month) of waiting, Apple has finally unveiled the 7th-gen iPad mini. It did so today in a press release rather than holding a media event, and the reasons for this diffidence become apparent when you see how much, or rather how little, has changed.

During the last day of Amazon's October Prime Day sale, Apple's current-model iPad mini is still going for just $350. That's $30 less than it sold for during Prime Day in July and marks a new all-time low for the smallest Apple tablet.
