First Alert Weather: Mild and foggy on Monday, much colder to start 2025
WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Monday will be our warmest day left in the rest of the forecast; highs will top out in the upper-30s and low-40s across north central Wisconsin. This will be the last time we have a chance of hitting 40° or warmer. After today, we cool off into the low-30s on Tuesday before feeling a lot more like Winter towards the end of this week. By Thursday and Friday, we’re in the upper teens for highs with single-digits lows by Friday morning and this weekend. Now if you are not a fan of all the fog we have been experiencing recently, then you will like what’s coming. Monday morning is expected to be our last chance for fog for a little bit (let alone dense fog). Any fog should clear out by noon. Any dense fog could cause a few slick spots on roads this morning. This week is trending pretty dry. A couple flurries cannot be ruled out around Highway 10 tomorrow. However, precipitation is MUCH more likely to fall further south towards the Wisconsin/Illinois border & into northern Illinois. Our best chance for snow will be next weekend. It’s too early to tell any snowfall totals or exact tracking. All we can say currently is that there is a chance, and there is potential for some of us to get our highest snowfall totals of the season. Stay tuned for updates.
