While Boston Mayor Michelle Wu focused the meat of her State of the City address on local accomplishments and initiatives, she did open and close the address with direct nods to the national political atmosphere.

Wu made the case that the future of Boston is bright under her leadership on Wednesday, a key opportunity for her to pitch her vision for the city to voters as she seeks reelection this year.

Kraft said that Mayor Michelle Wu is not doing enough to build housing, is failing Boston's students, and is misrepresenting how safe the city is.
