Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry made it clear that LSU would not allow athletic director Scott Woodward to make the next hire.

LSU's former head coach Ed Orgeron would like another chance to coach the Tigers, and he also spoke about Lane Kiffin and Brian Kelly

On the flip side, Woodward once nailed the hire of Chris Petersen at Washington. At LSU, he's hired women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey and baseball coach Jay Johnson. They won national championships.

With that being said, former NFL head coach Jon Gruden has been very open about wanting to coach in the SEC. He has now been named as a potential candidate to watch for the Tigers in their new head coaching search. USA Today took a look at some possible names who should be considered by the Tigers. Gruden was mentioned on that list.
