Jerry began his career in 1960 as a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. Primarily known for his shooting and scoring abilities, West was also a four-time All-Defensive First Team. He remains the first and only player to win Finals MVP (1969) despite being on the losing side.

However, in typical Celtics' fashion, they refused to fold and went on to win Game 6 to force a decisive Game 7. In the finale, despite West dropping 42 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists, the Lakers fell heartbreakingly short — 108-106 — making it the sixth time that they have lost to arch-rivals the Celtics.
