High temperatures on Dec. 30 could be "the coldest of the 2025-2026 winter season so far," according to the National Weather Service Tallahassee.

Florida’s 2025 weather was relatively subdued, with no hurricane landfalls and roughly half the usual number of severe weather reports.

While the Deep South isn’t known for blizzards, snow is far from impossible. On rare occasions, a large area of bitterly cold arctic air will travel all the way south to the Gulf. That cold air grabs onto some warm Gulf moisture, and the result is snow. This happens about every few years.
