The Democratic National Committee‘s possible removal of Vice Chairman David Hogg has ignited an internal firestorm, splitting party members over what some say is a sham attempt to quash a young leader.

Monday’s vote also removed Pennsylvania State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta from his position as DNC vice chair. Christine Pelosi, a member of the DNC credentials committee and daughter of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, emphasized that the decision was not a reflection of their performance.

The DNC's Credentials subcommittee recommended that the party should redo vice-chair elections because of procedural issues with how the balloting was conducted.
