The UConn men’s basketball team has been challenged in its last three games but, once again, proved to have the poise and defensive ability to prevail over late adversity.
The images of the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams walking off the court for the final time last season couldn’t have been more different. There was joy as Paige Bueckers led the women’s squad to a record 12th national title.
UConn (18-1, 8-0 Big East) had to rally from an 11-point deficit with less than three minutes left to win in overtime at Providence on Jan. 7. On Tuesday night in Newark, N.J., the Huskies survived a furious Seton Hall comeback for a 69-64 victory.
