Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic front-runner in the New York City mayoral race, marched under the bridge’s arches with elected officials, holding a banner that said, “Our Time Is Now.”

The TCS New York City Marathon will be held with over 50,000 runners and tight security, including NYPD's specialized units.

The world's biggest marathon returns in 2025, with more than 55,000 runners expected to participate in the 26.2 mile run through the five boroughs.

The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon will take place Sunday, November 2, drawing more than 50,000 runners and will be televised in the New York area live on WABC-TV Channel 7, nationally on ESPN2, and around the world by various international broadcasters.

Marathoners will then cross the Queensboro Bridge — one of five cross-borough bridge closures in the route, the others being the Verrazzano-Narrows from Staten Island to Brooklyn, the Pulaski Bridge from Brooklyn to Queens, and the Willis Avenue and Madison Avenue bridges between Manhattan and the Bronx.
