The Bank of Japan (BoJ) is the central bank of Japan. Established under the Bank of Japan Act in 1882, it is a juridical entity and neither a government agency nor a private corporation.

BOJ Policy Board members agreed on the continuation at their monetary policy meeting on June 16 although inflation has been exceeding the central bank’s 2 percent target for some time.
