Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have learned their fates for the next stage of the Champions League following the conclusion of the league phase. Liverpool had already guaranteed a top-eight spot and a place in the last-16 having won their first seven games in this year’s competition.

With the group stages finally completed, the Reds now have a month off the Champions League before the last-16 ties begin next month. And Liverpool could face a tough opponent when it returns to European action.
